Jennifer Wood
Jennifer is Steve's legal assistant and office manager. She was born in Sayreville, New Jersey in 1969 and moved to Florida in 1989. Since that time she has been working with attorneys in Ocala, has served as office manager for several different firms during her career, and has been working with Steve since 2002.
Jennifer assists with many of the initial investigative steps in cases, such as preparing the initial requests for medical records, insurance policies, accident reports, and other information. When cases require a lawsuit, she assists with preparation of documents to be filed with the court, scheduling, and a multitude of other behind the scenes tasks, including assisting Steve at trial. Jennifer has been a legal assistant for more than 20 years now, most of that time in the personal injury field. Clients find her excellent to work with and she can answer many basic questions in Steve's absence.
Outside of work, Jennifer lives an active life. She enjoys going to the beach, traveling, cooking, baking, shopping, home improvement projects, reading, and listening to music (especially while driving her red MINI Cooper convertible with the top down on beautiful Florida days).
Kelly Evans
Kelly is Steve's paralegal and is a licensed insurance adjuster. She was born in 1969 in Ocala, Florida and graduated from Forest High School in 1987. She is a 1991 graduate of the University of Florida and has over 18 years of experience evaluating and handling injury claims, most of that time as an adjuster for two major insurance carriers. She knows the type of information and documentation insurance carriers demand and require before they will honor and pay claims.
After initial requests for information go out in cases, Kelly then becomes involved to perform additional investigative tasks. She obtains and reviews medical records, prepares medical bill summaries, and prepares the initial drafts of settlement packages to be sent to the insurance companies. Kelly does excellent work and, like Jennifer, clients find she is pleasant to work with and is very knowledgeable.
Kelly married Morgan in 1993 and has two children, Morgan and Hannah. Her interests outside of work include reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. She volunteers for Junior Achievement, where she teaches students the basic concepts of business, economics and how education is relevant to the workplace.
Debbie Zeak
Debbie is Steve's litigation paralegal and investigator. She was born in New York, moved to south Florida, and settled in Ocala in 1994. She attended Palm Beach Community College and is a graduate of the Florida Highway Patrol Academy in Tallahassee, Florida. She was the first female Homicide Investigator in the State of Florida, as well as the first female promoted to the rank of Sergeant in the State of Florida. She has over 20 years experience in the legal field, including criminal prosecution and working with attorneys in civil matters. She has worked as a paralegal investigator in large law firms in south Florida and Marion County.
Debbie assists Steve during the initial investigation of cases. She also assists with investigation and discovery matters if a lawsuit is filed. She assists Steve with all matters in preparation for, and during trial.
Debbie married Mike in 1988. She is passionate about her work and her healthy lifestyle. Outside of work she enjoys running, biking, fitness classes, traveling, and construction, renovation or restoration projects.
